Really gutted with this, Hatton just went in and tried to smuther him and forgot about defence.
Gather you seen the Manny interview but basically he said Hatton may have been cautious of the right hand and so missed his improved left. Which was what got him in the end.

Reckon he will be given boot now. Eithier 1 last fight in England or retire
Roach was perhaps right, Hatton has been fighting for too long to drastically change his style, he was too slow and didn't have the reach. But if Mayweather hasn't been 100% behind Hatton he had no chance.
Definitely don't see him staying on if there is one more big fight. Does he go back to Billy Graham? You don't turn up late for a big fight at the MGM by accident. And did he make the right choice splitting away from Frank Warrens stable? These will be in his mind for weeks to come.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11

Hatton just didn't see that left hand coming at all and he left his head exposed by having his hands too low. He said that in training he had been working on his defence and head movement but when it comes to down to it he found that old habits died hard. He has had a successful career and need never fight again so he should retire now while he still has his faculties intact.
I think criticism of Floyd Snr is harsh other than him turning up late.
Hatton lost the fight cos of not applying what Floyd Snr had been trying to teach him which is exactly what Freddie Roach said before the fight; Hatton would revert back to the same style as he always had done regardless of what he has been taught by Floyd Snr.
Hatton has had the offensive game to win the pound for pound title but the harsh reality is that he's way short defensively and that is down to not having a world class trainer early enough in his career. Of course Billy Graham got Hatton as far as the great victory over Kosta Tzyu but had Hatton got himself a Freddie Roach, a Buddy Girt, an Emanuel Steward or even a Floyd Mayweather Snr around 7 or 8 years ago then he could well have been the pound for pound champion but hindsight is a wonderful thing.

How dare you try to put the blame onto King Ricky for not changing his style.
Cheated by the ref against Mayweather Jr, and now cheated by his own coach in this fight - he is still by far the best boxer in the world.
