Think you're being hugely harsh on Littler. Yes, he missed a couple of vital tackles but several of our players were equally guilty of exactly the same today, in equally important positions.

Defence is a team activity, poor defence is a team responsibility.

The last 5 mins of the first half had a couple of decent chances and with the bounce of the ball could of gone in 4 points up. 2nd half for the first 15 mins just could not turn the pressure into points. A big plus was Ratchfords performance he really needs a good run of games in his preferred position.
A big minus though was i managed to speak to a certain club official . I asked him about how contract negotiations were going with the little genius apparently he agreed a new contract before the France england game last year but after the game his agent wanted to double the agreed wage! I dont think the club are that impressed with Richies choice of agent and reading between the lines a new contract is no way nearer but it was stressed that he is under contract for the rest of this season and next.

isn't his agent Martin Offiah?

FL - We are never going to get near the level required with Stu in the side. We need to Cut the sentiment - his time is up. His defence has been woeful this season and he just can`t or won`t part. A loyal servant but we need more than that.

I think Offiah is forgetting who paid his wages at the end of his career when no other team would have him.

You're entitled to your opinion on Littler, but that doesn't change what I said - he doesn't deserve to be singled out for poor defence today, because LOTS of our players were equally guilty of exactly the same.

bring back fitzy

Robbie Paul gives us another aspect to our play that Mal doesn't and both he and John Wilshere had a good games today, John made probably one mistake all game, as for Mal, leave him on by all means and replace one of the 2nd rowers, with Robbie but we do look to have other options in attack. As for Robbie's tackling today he did puy in a shift. I'm afraid you have exposed your lack of appreciation for jobs well done by these two today. Fitzy is now not as good a fullback as Wilshere.

I reckon today all 17 did well and we again showed we will compete with the rest of the teams in SL, I can see a few more wins coming our way and more improvement next season.

I agreee about the one mistake by Wilshere but it was a pretty dumb one. Also in my opinion he is far too casual once he's got the ball in his hands. He just trots up to the first tackler and takes the tackle. It loses us yards. he needs to run harder with the ball and make a few yards before the chase get up to him. Its like he's programmed.

In my opinion today I thought we played well in places but made too many wrong decision. Positive for me was Myler/Ratchford partnership. Thought it showed a lot of promise. The big plus for me over the last few weeks though is the determination. Before Hull in the cup after it went 18-10 it would have been our cue to lay down and let a team walk all over us. We are not doing that now. step in the right direction.

Though disappointed with the result, I think we are moving in the right direction but:-

I think that we need to try to be more expansive with the ball. I am not asking for us to throw the ball about recklessly and I know we've had significant injury problems behind the pack, but we will find it very difficult to open up Super League defences by just driving up the middle.

If Henry and Goulding are centres why do we play them on the wing with a loose forward in the centres?

I think we should play Ratchford at 6. That could mean that we could put Smith at full back (or bring Fitzpatrick back) so that Wilshere could play on the wing.

What does Adam Sidlow have to do to get into the 17 each week. I'm afraid I don't see how certain other forwards get in ahead of him. Am I missing something about his performances?

The next few games will define our season. Victories will increase the confidence levels and set us up for a good second half of the season. Here's hoping!

Ken Gill could make the ball talk.
