Yes.

If you knew anything about the cuntry you live in and are always big-noting then you would know that the 2006 census gave Townsville a population of just over 143,000.

You don't need your mother to take you to the library to find this out. Just use Google in the way that the people at Centrelink taught you.

The Castleford ground could not hold the 13,000 odd locals that you must fantasize as attending every week.

The 2001 census is nearly 40,000.

Based on the fact that our average attendance is currently 8,000 which gives a percentage of 20%, I think that is where he got his figure from.

Obviously, that will now be distorted due to population increase and from your figure gives a percentage of 12%, not 10%

I was refering to percentage of local town population who attend.
Of course the attendance will include visitors -- more from clubs that are nearby.

The best way to determine the percentage of the local town population who attend games is to average the attendance at Les Catalans and Harlequins matches each year, because they each bring less than 100 fans.

If I am not mistaken these teams result in a crowd of around 6,500.

A number of factors distort those figures. For example, you have to account for Sky TV, appeal of match, success of the side currently playing etc. That is nowhere near representative of the actual people that could potentially go.

As for Cas, we played Quins at home and got over 7,000. Therefore at most it will be 6.9k or 7k than 6.5k as you incorretly put.

Now there's a revelation. In order for one to know anything about one's motherland one must memorise census figures for each town.

I suspect Albert is the only one on these forums who knows anything about the UK.

Whitehaven must be in the mix. Population of 25,000 and average crowd of ~2,000 = 8%

If they were is Super League, they'd easily get 25% of the town turning out.

winning like never before. decoys. mouse traps. chicken wings. lollie pops. shepperds. the crusher. grapples. big league. In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
