Incidentally, from personal experience of trying to find it by car for the first time, Featherstone is rarely heard of and its location is almost unknown, among the pedestrian residents of west Yorkshire!

Have you ever tried to find ' Celtic ' or Harlequin ?

How about ' West '

And yes Salford is not as big a place as Manchester but it is a hell of a lot bigger than W1g4n,St helens,Warrington and lots of other places

In fact you should try finding anybody in Toulouse who knows where Toulouse Olympic play , I tried , it was like trying to find anybody in Bridgend that knew there was a RL team playing there

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I think its fantastic that the Reds club wants to keep its name attached to a place thats commonly referred to as "Earths Bum".

The Salford fans' attachment to their lack of national or global recognition.

Manchester United could never be used as it would alienate the blue half of the city.

It would need to be something that was not associated with football and that both teams fans could relate to ie
Manchester Pirates or Manchester Scallies

Huddersfield Giants 2013 over achievers

Huddersfield Giants 2014 under achievers ??????????
