If I was a pessimist I wouldn't say he sounded too convincing, there were no guarantees in the interview.
The fans, the members, the people there.. from the day I stepped foot onto that field at the AJ Bell Stadium,I knew I would love that club for the rest of my life. "Jackson Hastings"..

Warrington giving us a shed load of cash completely defeats the point of it all. Why develop the players if it's still the same old story of "bigger" clubs poaching the best talent from those with less money
Naturally I hope we can offer him a suitable deal and he stays, but would it not be fair to say Widnes did the developing with Myler?

Yeah they did obviously do a lot of the work but we also gave him a starting role in NL1 (Im assuming he would have been starting for Widnes if he would have stayed there last season as well though) and SL and he's done nothing but improve since he arrived. We were in the right place at the right time when it came to signing him, given the circumstances surrounding Widnes at the time. For someone to come and flash the cash and buy him from us a year into his Super League career with us would be highly disappointing.

no carnt moan but he came to us ,we gave him a chance , signed him on a good contract ,offered to re-new it last season but his agent martin the dancer offiah , advised him against it , told him to hold out for more money ,after being picked for england decided that his marke value had gone up , so negotiations are still up in the air the offer is on the table , but his agent is after more so the likely optiion is to let him go and receive a good transfer fee so making a complete mockery of the francise saystem , still hopefully salford should receive in the region of 250,000 for a player of such promise , although i personally would love to see the board build a team around him

In Myler we have for the first time in many years a player who is both talented and young enough to build an entire team around, we need to make him the biggest earner at the club (I think someone else mooted it but Paul will surely call it quits at the end of the season and the money this free's up should go to secureing Myler, Turner and Adamson long term - not topping up a 30+ yr old Aussies pension scheme).
Myler is without doubt in my eyes the medium to long term future at scrum halve for the England and GB set up, so to let him go now without the biggest fight would be pure folly.
Getting this right would go some way to appeaseing the fans who are getting increaseingly frustrated with the stadium debacle.

Even if he doesn't know much about Rugby League ( your view ) he certainly knows how to screw as much money out of a playing contract as possible, so in that sense he's the right man for the job. 'Stepping in' to help players means nowt: Wire did exactly the same with Nick Fozzard but he soon dumped us for a bigger pay cheque and more chances of trophies at Saints.
