Well, Catalans started poorly and went on to do much better in their second year. Some parallels are there - squad that didn't have much of pre-season, but some others are not there - plenty of young players who need to get up to speed, a distance to travell which makes home games more of a forteress. In their second year most of the Catalans players had had a year of working at a higher level. Next year you would expect most of the Crusaders' team to be the same, with players playing a similar level to their ability. To improve Crusaders need to find Welsh talent and fast!

yes I had hoped we would have seen a strong club with a competitive team and lots of fans. So much for franchise bidding and giving teams time to build squads!
WEST COAST PIRATES NRL expansion? Sometime soon, maybe......

Yep great parallels. 50 year RL tradition, game played by thousands, communities brought up on RL, competitive youth set up etc all in abundance around Bridgend To improve Bridgend need to move to Swansea/Cardiff.
They won't win this season and I'd be surprised if they still exist this time next season.
They haven't got the crowds (Not that they could be expected to yet), but they won't increase until the side is capable of winning. They don't seem to have made any half decent signings this season, just random NRL nobodies and loaned SL rejectees who will be in the National Leagues next season no doubt.
I just don't see how you are meant to stabilise and move forward with diminishing interest, falling crowds, no income and low morale?
