Salford's plans for a new stadium have been hit by the recession, which could mean the loss of their latest partner.

Thus re-iterating the point that a stadium aint a stadium until some boffin cuts the ribbon to open the bloody thing. That's Salford ferkucked then and all others that "promise" to build. Halifax are learning that lesson the hard way - so should others.

That's not how it reads tbh. The problems at the LSC are well publicised but it doesn't necessarily mean no cash for Salford City College. They could have to revise the plans downwards but there's a lot of politics involved in that particular Governmental f*ck up and anything could yet happen.

Are you saying that Castleford and Wakefield are not going to get their stadium under way before 2012 either?

Not at all, but i think Salford's (Wilko's) plan to be in by 2010 may be a little optimistic.

This is exactly why im still pessimistic about Saints stadium. I will only take it for granted, once its built and open.

And that is the position all fans should take. Many have been let down too often with empty promises.

Are Cas and Wakey sharing then? Sounds a good idea to me. Just tell them different junctions of the motorway to come off at and they wouldn't notice the difference anyway.

Superleague should have the finger applying a little pressure on the trapdoor button, as it's looking particularly ropey for them. Don't get me wrong I hope they find a partner and get it built and in use, but it's looking increasingly unlikely. With Salford, as with Wakey no new stadium should = Immediate eviction from SL.

Salford's plans have been in the pipeline since 2003. The question has to be asked how long they can continue to put positive spin on this fiasco, and will the RFL now see through this facade unfolding before our eyes.

Castleford and Wakefield have provided their plans as well, but following through is a different thing. All sides need to start their building late this year/early 2010 or else they are in **** street.
