Sound might see you up there we are leaving Wazza at 9am on Saturday staying over till Mon, tell your mum Des aka Ste said hello and will look out for her at Murrayfield!
Its only costing us lot 30 each for tour bus, £55 for hotel (2 nights) and £12.50 for a ticket - less than £100 in all, so that’s a bargin. The expensive bit is beer money gonna need £100 a day for that!!!!

Someone said to me yesterday that instead of the RFL getting sponsership for the Mascot games - why not get sponsership for the weekend - we can have Vestas Millenium Magic or whatever and then the sponsership money should be divided to all the clubs to put on discount coaches - even if these would be just for the day and that in itself can boost crowds attendances.
I agree with that - it means that people who say money is tight - they can still have a chance of going if it something like a tenner or less for coach and a fiver for the games - it would be like going to Leeds - just a little longer.
Why do you think Edinburgh will be a let down? There is a lot of negativity around Edinburgh from some fans, and I don't get it. Edinburgh is much more of a tourist city that Cardiff, and basically Cardiff Tourist Board and the WRU just didn;t do enough to make the RFL want to keep it there.
I ent to both years at Cardiff, and felt that it was at risk of becoming stale if it would have been held there again.
People keep spouting off that it is miles away from everything, well actually it is 1.4m to Princes Street, which is a 20-30m walk, or a few minutes in the bus.
Cardiff didn't really allow for any activities outside of the stadium, and I am looking forward to things like the Tag tournament with some legends being involved.
As for your points about Sponsorship, well this is an engage event, as it is Super League.
As for affordability, the event is very affordable. It is costing me less than Cardiff, staying in better hotels, and for 3 nights rather than 2. I will be watching 7 games for the price of £12.50, so ticket prices are spot on!
If people can't afford to go, or decide they don't want to, fine, but I don't understand the complaints about Edinburgh and Murrayfield.

Maybe some of the people complaining haven't been to Edinburgh before, its one of the best cities to visit in the UK.

agree 100 per cent with that - beautiful city and its not called " The Athens of the North" without good reason - its not really comparable to Cardiff in many ways at all .
Cant make it myself unfortunately but
im sure those who have decided to go will enjoy Edinburgh -

That was rugby league showcasing its game to the nation, if you were a major sponsor thinking of getting into rugby league then you would be thinking twice right now as you wouldn`t want your product to be associated with a two thirds empty stadium. Sky did its best to conceal how few people were at the magic weekend with some clever camera work but even they couldn`t hide how few people had turned up.
I wanted the magic weekend to be a success from the moment it started in Cardiff but you have to face upto facts here, the only real winners are the cities that stage the games as Edingburgh made around £10 million from the event and also the RFL who got a few quid in its back pocket.
The image of our game is the most important factor here and it took a massive knock in Edingburgh, if they are going to continue with the magic weekend then they need smaller stadiums to stage the event in as the atmosphere gets lost in a ground thats two thirds empty and its embarrassing to our game to have a stadium so empty for such a major event with the nation watching on and possibly the world if it went out to Australia.
Putting the stadiums thing to one side, I'm just not convinced by it at all. As a TV viewer, I found it so difficult to maintain the enthusiasm game after game, I mean, I watched every second of every game, but man alive, I felt like I'd played, really tough. As someone who literally sits in work, and thinks "Great, Castleford v Leeds tonight" on a Friday, I just found it overload, and a bit of a turn off in truth.
As for the standard of rugby, it's weird watching it, I don't know how to explain it, there's something sort of 'testamonial' about it. It doesn't seem real somehow, it normally hurts like hell getting beat, home or away, but somehow this doesn't, I can't explan it really. The atmosphere, it's like your watching Rugby Union 7's on SKY, at Twickenham, when there's patchy support, the odd roar, when a Fijiaan jinks his way through from his own half past the entire Army side.
Difficult to explain, but everything I love about RL gets lost in tranlastion at this somehow.
