He equalised to take the game to extra time, Loads of Leeds fans who'd left early were trying to get back into the ground

As has been said previously the 'wide to west' try and the great Millennium Magic stitch up.

Not quite the case. Botham had a pretty good run in the Leeds team when he returned to Headingley.

It was only when Leeds couldn't fit him on the 20:20 that they allowed him to move to a club that also couldn't fit him on the 20:20

Saints had the ball, we got to 2 seconds left and Saints launched the ball into the air. We failed to catch it, Cunningham somehow got it and just barged over the line as the hooter went. It went to the video ref, and I will never forget running down to the front of the stand to get a view of the screen. Cue Saints fans celebrating like they'd won the cup before the video ref had decided. We knew it was a try.

It's always Saints games I cry at :(

The best part was watching it back

"Appo to win the match for Warrington"

Do kicks count?

We haven't had any last second tries but a few kicks. Namely in our first season then by a certain Jonny Wilshere in last years grand final.

IIRC Bulls also lost a game they'd been winning at Wigan, by a try after the hooter a few weeks before 'Wide To West'.

Eddie Hemming's 'Wide to West' must go down in history alongside Waring's "Poor Lad" and Wolstenholme's "They think it's all over".

That wouldn't be 2005, (or possibly not Saints), Hull played Saints in the S/F, Leeds played Toluse IIRC.

It would be the 2003 cup semi final, it didn't win the game, it took it to extra time. It was brilliant, best game of rugby I have ever seen.
Smith scored with about 5 mins left for Saints but they missed the kick, Leeds scored in the last seconds and Sinny, who wasn't the main kicker back then, slotted it over from the touchline, mad scenes in the Leeds end followed, well unless you were one of the idiots that left after the Smith try of course. :D
