I dont think anyone can dissagree that he,s put a fortune into the club however weve not exactly been successfull in the 30 years . there comes a time when you.ve got to let someone with new ideas have an oppurtunity to try other ways the fans have spent a fortune over the years as well and were entitled to our opinions even if its not the isnt the chairman wonderful brigade.

Do it one of the threads specifically about the stadium then rather than one about our Chairman receiving a deserved OBE. Also "every other f00ker" probably has at least one thing positive to say about other aspects of the club while you sit halfway across the world and complain more than anyone on here.

convicts shouldn't be allowed computers, perhaps if more fans cam ethen we could sign better players, but even in the 70's we still only averaged 6000, Salford for some reason is not a truely rugby city, thats what Sir John and the club are trying to change.

Some time ago the chairman offered to sell the club to anyone who felt that they could do a better job, there were no takers.

I have been a supporter of the club for more years than most people and I am a shareholder, season ticket holder, lottery member, Forever Reds member, you name it I have done it, but people should realise that JW, HC and the other directors probably put more money into the club in a week than some people do in their lifetime.

Constructive criticism is not a problem and is welcomed,and the attendance of the chairman, directors and various other members of the staff at Forever Reds meetings prove that, they can and do take it.

I am probably in your eyes one of the "Isn't the chairman wonderful brigade" but some people who have defended him are not, some do not even support the Reds, but the do understand what he has done for the club, the city and for several charitable causes over many years.

Seriously, your John Wilkinson is a Salford legend and a tru hero in RL.

It was on the local radio but I am not sure what the price was but luckily for the club JW is still with us.

The sad thing about all this is the fact that many people throughout the RL world recognize the fact that without him the club would not exist as it does today whereas other people appear to have no idea about the position even though they class themselves as supporters.

The same applies to the other directors Howard Clague, Ian Watson, Clive Tomkinson and the late N.Hilton who over the years have stood by the club in some pretty hard times.

John Wilkinson brings to the game an honesty that is sadly lacking today in many walks of life , not just sport.
