GB V Australia at the City of Manchester Stadium in something like 2004.
Opening match of the tri-nations, and on the back of the test series the year before where we also lost all the matches in the last minute. We took a 10-0 lead at half time; Aus battled back and literally scored on the last play.
It was a case of 'here we go again'. Still, we had a good pissup afterwards in Mary Ds.

Wigan v Saints at Station Road Swinton in the Championship Final.
Wigan were leading 12 - 11 in the last minutes and Saints threw the ball back for John Walsh to try a drop goal from close to half way. It missed by a mile but bounced over the Wigan fullback Colin Tyrers head and Billy Benyon touched down.
He was at least 5 yards in front of Walsh when the ball was kicked, but Eric Lawrenson the ref from Warrington gave the try and to make matters worse Coslett kicked the goal.
Oh for a video ref.
Benyon came into the Stork pub in Billinge a few months later. I asked him (no I told him) if he was offside. He winked, then laughed. "The ref said I wasn't." was his reply.

In 1935 The Dragon Slayers as they were known defeated Canterbury bulldogs 91-6, which is still the biggest win in the Club's History. In 1907, the St George district had a club in the Sydney rugby union competition. Interestingly, the team's area was referred to as the 'Illawarra suburbs'. A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. References were found at the time to district teams being called 'The Saints'.the perfect 11
