im Scouse , i do work in the media - have worked in both cities , Manchester has loads going for it but it cant match Liverpool in the above -

Current European Capital of Culture? It's Vilnius in Lithuania and Linz in Austria. Please let's not use Capital of Culture as an indication of something good.

Not to mention the fact that this 'prestigious' award is only given to run-down cities in urgent need of regeneration. Glasgow and Oporto being the main two examples I can think of.
