Back on thread
I would suspend them (without pay) for the duration of their legal punishment. In most careers, if you have a record/get a record, you get shown the door, so why different for these numpties.

The NFL are clamping down on player behaviour and players who infringe the law are being suspend and have to apply for re-instatement.

There's some merit in this.

i'd say if your found guilty it should be suspended without pay. for the duration of the sentence and then a standard 6 league game ban after that. how is it fair that guys can get custodial/ suspended sentences etc and not be banned by the clubs and yet if you test positive for gear you get 2 years.

It sets a bad tone that you can get found guilty of doping and not get a criminal conviction but serve a lengthy ban but you can bring the game into disrepute and be let off

Our lot thankfully haven't progressed onto drug related shootings, gang rape or taking drugs all the time just yet. The NRL is a cesspit.

Saddened! wrote:Each act should be taken on it's own individual grounds and a view taken on that. Cockayne's was a very serious crime and KR's response is fine by me.

Pryce's was absolutely nothing so didn't warrant any action at all by the club, the warning comes because it's not the first time he's got into trouble. Those getting all sanctimonious about his 'crime' need to get outside more and breath in a few times.

Reardon was cut by Wire as an excuse for how poor he is as a player and the poorness of his injury record. If they had Pryce they, nor Hull KR would have taken the action they did.

By the courts, yes. The RFL should not then take this into account as a secondary punishment, they should have a punishment that fits all, if you are convicted in a court of law for a criminal offence you should not be allowed to be involved in the game for xxxxx months.
