Lost too many quality players and leaders over the last few seasons and not replaced them with players of the same quality. Never replaced Swain as our leader and absolute champion player and when we find Radford as our replacement for Kearney, there have to be some questions asked about our recent recruitment.
100% agree.

I completely agree with the sentiment, but surely Crocker is now the "replacement" for Kearney?

Yes he is. IMO we never really took the opportunity to kick on from the CC win in 2005. A couple of quality signings could have seen us established as a top two side in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 but we seriously missed the boat.
THANK YOU Mr. PEARSON, FOR RIDDING US OF FCKWIT FUBAR, CEO TOOL AND THE STINKING UNCLE KATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHY DON'T THE DOBBINS PLAY IN GREEN SHIRT, GREEN SHORTS AND GREEN SOCKS IN ORDER TO EXPRESS THEIR INFINITE ENVY OF EVERYTHING BLACK AND WHITE??

our grand final team was:
Shaun Briscoe
Motu Tony
Sid Domic
Kirk Yeaman
Gareth Raynor
Paul Cooke
Richard Horne
Ewan Dowes
Richard Swain
Garreth Carvell
Shayne McMenemy
Lee Radford
Danny Washbrook
Richard Whiting
Graeme Horne
Scott Wheeldon
Paul King
wipes the floor with what we have now I'm afraid
of that team Domic, Swain, Mcmenemy would have needed replacing anyway due to retirement.]
and the biggest loss is Cooke
and that side lacked another winger due to Blacklock's retirement, and an impact player to be on the bench.
since then we have signed:
Tickle, Manu, Cusack, Byrne, Maivia, Berrigan, Crocker, Lakuaki, Dykes, Head (on loan), Godwin, Moa, Calderwood, Sing, Thorman.
of that list I'd only class Berrigan, Crocker (when he arrives) and Manu as good buys
I'm on the fence about Calderwood as he's played well these last few weeks, and Lakuaki I don't know too much about
but the rest have been players we simply didn't need (Godwin) or just the same as players we already had (Byrne, Cusack, Tickle) the remaining were either past their past or injury prone or just a complete joke (Maivia)

Judus leaving was the biggest factor, to rely on one player so much as we did with Cooke was criminal, at one point he was the best player in the league in my opinion, he still hasnt been replaced.

2002 moving to the KC, sure the crowds went up and we still had mcrae and played entertaining rugby but we had the first of a long run of injury crisis's
