I appreciate that. Relative to getting beat by Salford at home, it is a good result. Relative to competing on level terms with the likes of Saints and Leeds and making a grand final, it is not.

TBF I think the only person to have used the word 'delighted' is you.
Personally, I'm always happy when we win. Just as I'm always pi$$ed off when we lose. That doesn't mean that I'm blind to the quality of the performance. It just means that I'm a fan.

Too many people on here believe that you have to have one extreme view or the other and no inbetween. It's pathetic in my view to continually slag everything that happens at the club even when it's not always bad. Thread after thread of garbage rumour and slagging. The other thing which many either cannot see or refuse to see is that the league is closer than it's ever been with teams beating other teams they didn't used to. This weekend is a pretty good example. So no team has a divine right to win but some people act on here like we have.
We have not played consistently well for sure since the GF defeat under Peter Sharp. Recruitment and retention has been dire, and we have had a very very poor run on injuries. But some of the fans on here are not the same type that we used to have in the 36 years I've been watching. Too much arm waving, insulting and slagging off these days. Sure our fans have always been quick to offer an opinion but I'm feeling now that some are a bit disappointed that we won tonight and a true Hull fan would never ever harbour a thought like that.

Everyone on here is passionate about Hull FC, and most of us can see that we have some fairly substantial problems on the playing/coaching side of things. Some do get a little carried away with how they express their disappointment, but that's because they love the club and hate to see it doing so badly, so needlessly.
So what happens is that you get one group of people who express themselves in what might be termed a slightly excitable manner, and another set who assert that the first group are not real fans and are revelling in the club's misfortunes. They in turn say that the other group are sheep, and the whole sorry process continues.
Neither side is more to blame than the other, IMO.
Read my post above. Some people, like me, can see good and bad at the club. Not just one side or the other. It's called being balanced.

But then, the other group claim that they are the elite supporters because they are more loyal than the first group. And so it continues.
A little more tolerance on both sides, and slightly more measured responses to certain posts would be beneficial to the board as a whole, I reckon.

And they will improve things. But you and I both know that the players we do have available are underperforming and have been for weeks. Tonight was a small step in the right direction, but there's some way to go yet.

Well said.
