We at least attempted to play with more width, and actually succeeded on many occasions. Our tries were well worked and we actually had players in motion and dummy runners.
In the second half we went into our shells and reverted to more of the 5 drives and a kick stuff we know and love.
Don't get me wrong - there is still plenty of improvement required. but I think we made a first, small, faltering step in the right direction tonight.
We did far more tackling second half and had far less field position which is why we weren't spinning it as much. Bringing it out of your own 20 is no place to be doing it despite what many detractors might erroneously claim. When we got near their line Yeaman scored/disallowed. We weren't that close apart from that.
Having said that what the fook Agar is doing coaching our forwards to lose a scrum against the head in the last minute I just don't know. He wants sacking just for that.

It was a win, Richard Horne was good at Full back, we got two points, and I came home happy.
It was by and large poor fair, but myself, Wolfie, Denbo and a few of the other die hard who went, are glad we did! When the good times return and they invariably will, because they always do (Unless some on here hound the board out and our club collapses over night) we will remember tonight and smile!
Lets now see what confidence the team take from the game! A Win is a Win and however poor it was against a team who have had a cuple of good wins themselves of late!
It is the bad times that make the good times good. Hull Fc are my team and I am glad I went to Salford!
This won't suit all the pyriahs on here who seem to revel in our current plight so let the criticism begin!
Well said

Surely that has to be a joke ?
Agar would not have said; there's two minutes to go lets just not put any effort in the scrum
That was the players fault and nothing to do with Agar

that 'scrappy' rugby isnt going to get us into the playoffs, or are you just happy for our season to end in July again?
So threatening and attacking out wide is scrappy play now? We're not the best team in the league but we're not the worst. I don't think you can see any bigger picture at all.

It was a joke but I'm expecting a new thread to appear about it any time now from one of the usual suspects who I strongly believe are annoyed when we win.

I agree with much of what Kosh said about the game. I still can't help thinking that the quality of the opposition made the slight improvements possible. I don't think Cas will give us as much latitude.
All that said, it shows how far we have tumbled when a very scrappy win at Salford is seen as a good result.

fair enough then
I of course already knew it was a joke and was just joining in

the other poster described the game as 'scrappy' not me, I'd describe it as very poor and error strewn from both sides.
and the bigger picture is this club is in rapid decline, the fact that some people are somehow delighted that we were marginally less hopeless than Salford baffles me
