Sorry mate, but it has nothing to do with the interest rates.
Money is as cheap as it has ever been and the banks are currently lending at small margins over LIBOR(one month currently at 0.88%).

The problem lies in actually providing sufficient covenant for the lend to happen.
The banking industry got itself in a mess by irresponsible lending.
Unfortunately it has now gone to the other extreme and every deal they do is "buckle and braces"

Earlier in the year they asked for volunteers for a Stadium Steering Group. Has anyone been selected for this or had any feedback to their application?.

I was wondering that. If I was local I'd have applied myself.

Is it time for a little perspective yet?

To all you Cas fans, we've got THIS, and THIS, and THIS and even THIS. And of course most of all, we've got THIS.
Meanwhile, Wakey have got THIS. And if it all goes t*ts up for them they have THIS to fall back on.

Feel better? :D

Just gotta love the style , but since when did GNER/National Express East Coast HST trains call at Glasshoughton station, must be expecting supporters from further afield

Is it me or is that train a bit too small for the people on the platform? :D

I have had niggling doubts for a long time regarding the independence of both Castleford and Wakefield and they're not going away. The lack of activity surrounding Glasshoughton had me feeling very nervous and whilst I beleived that Thornes Park was always a non-starter I genuinely hoped Wakefield, along with Castleford would forge ahead and get new stadiums.
I felt that if Wakey looked at the possible locations of Durkar and Ossett/Lupset then they were just, and that's a big just, far away enough from Cas for us to push on with our own development.

I guess that what I'm struggling to put succinctly is that as soon as Wakefield announced the Stanley site, the first word that came to mind was MERGER. The site is slap bang in the middle of where the two clubs are, without really favouring either place (perhaps slightly in Wakey's favour).
I just get the feeling that it's all gearing up for a merger. I can't put my finger on it, but it just feels the same as it did years ago.
It is my opinion that the RFL want it more than ever, the Council ditto, Wakey have always been more resceptive to the idea and the only people blocking it are the Cas BoD.
I really hope I'm wrong, the vast majority of Cas fans, I think, would reject the stadium at Stanley as it's not in Cas and I feel it's too isolated from the centre of Wakefield to attract new fans from within Wakefield, or anywhere else for hat matter.

I'm more nervous now about the future of both Castleford and Wakefield than I have ever been. I hate being so cynical :( :( :( :(
