I think it is a hell of a lot more relevant than yours or mine, as these are the people in the positions of power. And I have a feeling that their opinion is a lot more educated and based on a lot more facts than your or mine, hence how they got into these positions of power.

I did think that about the lads and lasses that ran the banking industry of late

You really need to understand the licensing process more before trying to argue against it.
There is no process
You are stupid if you think there is , Franchises are there to expand the sport , nothing more , nothing less
All most want is the RFL to actually announce what they want

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done But he with a chuckle replied That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried. So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin On his face. If he worried he hid it. He started to sing as he tackled the thing That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

I think that the interest in that game was that players were playing for their jobs as there would have been no guarantee that the players on the losing team would have been retained due to the big drop in income that came with relegation.
Being relegated from a full time league to a semi pro one meant that the consequences of relegation from Super League could have been too severe for a club without a backer to help them out. The stakes for playing that one game were IMO too high. It could well have convinced the RFL even more that they were doing the right thing in introducing franchises.

Would you have liked it if Cas had got relegated last year? And then spent this season putting 60 points past teams, and then next season getting hammered every other week and getting relegated again? With Westerman and Owen playing for Leeds, and replaced by journeymen Aussies in the Cas team? Would that be good for the game?

That automatic promotion and relegation between Super League and the Championship is an absolute farce in modern day Rugby League, and will continue to be until the Championship becomes a full-time league.
