I am afraid i cannot help on the jobs front as i do not know what is going on in Hudds.

the best advice i can give is do not sit at home. Do anything to get out of the house it is good for your mental health and good to help you get another job.

I would suggest doing some voluntary work whilst you are unemployed. Check with the Council for voluntary services C.V.S. and see what they have got ( when you go for a job they will ask what yiou have been doing if you can show you have been doing something constructive it always looks better)

the other option is to look at any training opportunities as you will get funding to do them. Do anything computers , first aid or even think about retraining. all of this will help increase your chances, maybe open doors or help you get a spare bit of cash. Good Luck.

Apparently 2/3rds of all jobs are never advertised, so make a list of companies that you could work for and write to them

The only other thing is, if you are with an agency, ring them every friday and monday, make a pest of yourself and be pro-active, that way they remember you when looking to place a job.

Good advice. During my most recent phase of unemployment, I would go to the first class of the day at the gym, whatever it was, actually i ended up finding out that pilates is mint for your back the after rugby at the weekend. Anyway it motivated me to do something with my day.

Yep, I got a job to fill the gap (and pay the bills) between redundancy and starting my new career on monday by changing my facebook status to Jonny is looking for a job - gis a job! - someone did.

My dad was recently got made redundant, he got his new job by writing to a company that had interviewed him for a lower grade role a couple of years ago, at the time they'd told him he was over qualified for the job they were advertising, it just so happened that they had an ideal job for him when he rang.
