I do think the medical has been failed and the board have jumped on it quickly as they've realised the cock up in signing him in the first place.

For the first time ever I'd rather read a Crocker thread, as this is just embarrassing!

There was a strong chance he'd go down when they signed him though so that theory is out the window.

I reckon the announcement was released sharpish to get it out of the way before Reardon was sentenced today. If he had been given a custodial sentence and THEN we announced his release on medical grounds it would have looked even worse.

Several of our current squad would fail a medical right now but they are given rehabilitation. The board have come under criticism and needed to try and save face. If Readon is given a custodial sentence tomorrow how would the club react to having one of their players sent to prison. Maybe its me but i have no trust in our board at the moment. This story stinks of a cover up.

Why give rehabilitation to a player who has been brought in to cover players who are already in rehabiltation??

I think your being very naive if you think this decision was made in the 30 minutes after he came off air
Seems to me Rule is just a messenger boy and he never got the message about readon until after the show.

Lets be honest, in the "could have looked worse" category, its like chucking a cup full of water off the Titanic " 'Cos that icebergs looking dodgy Captain"!

Can we have an honest thread to list "cock ups" from recent times, allegedly some of the players read this board and it'd be nice to think they may in some way remember or pass on what's being said by the fans?

In regards to the Reardon fiasco I've said this many times before, IMHO you generally find with most organisations that they're only as good as the people at the top, I'm not going to list everything that's happened to make FC a figure of ridicule over the last two to three seasons as I ain't got time, but this has to 100% point yet again to bad management of the organisation as a whole.

CEO - Rule - Who appears to be a PLANK in the pocket of Kath "I'm with Leeds" Hetherington

Coach - Agar - Good lad being given orders/requests from a guy who appears to be a PLANK

Players
- Given orders from a guy trying his best to work with the aforementioned apparent/alleged PLANK

Are we seeing my point yet?!

Ask the board not me. I wouldn't have touched him with a barge pole in the first instance.

Don't tell me - you think the Moon landings were faked, don't you?

Reardon was brought in because we needed cover now, not at some undetermined future date. His contract was conditional on his full recovery from his Achilles injury for that very reason. A thorough medical exam was ordered for that very reason. He failed it. The results came in last night while Rule was on the air. His contract was terminated automatically by his failed medical and the announcement rushed out in order to avoid looking like a reaction to any sentence he may receive today.

But you carry on with your conspiracy theories if you want to.
