After reading that Thomas Leuluai has just put pen to paper on a new 3 year deal at Wigan, it makes you wonder if this story was leaked to the press to encourage Leuluai and his agent to accept the new contract while the deal was still on the table?
My guess is Leuluai and his agent have been stalling and Wigan have used David Burke to their advantage by hinting they are interested in Myler.

Leuluai has been signed as a nine rather than a scrum half.

Myler just has to be kept. He is the future England scrum half imo. That is why the new stadium is imperitive. With that we have the potential to be a big club and, not just keep the likes of Myler, but attract other big name stars.

Whatever big names are available at that time. It is much easier to attract big names playing in a good stadium and in front of, hopefully, decent crowds. WIth the additional money that is generated we should be able to afford a better calibre of player.
