Never saw the incident but a new ruling came in last season or the one before which you will of heard ! "loose carry" this means it's the ball carrying players responsibility to make sure the ball is secure.

Just another gray area in the rules.

Reittie's response to the decision also said much for me. No complaints from a player who can be 'reactionary'.

You're right...when my head is at someones hip height it is impossible for my right hand (which you can see is already higher on that clip) to be any higher than my head

(and it's nothing to do with being open minded, cause I still don't think our first try should have stood)

Also interesting how the play the ball before you last try of the first half was emitted (but shhhh everyone, we're being open minded...it's another of those decisions the ref, who was obviously perfect, got right when in favour of Halifax)

It wasn't given. The referee disallowed the try for a knock on.
