Just to add to the good comments above, played with alot of grit in tough conditions against a big powerful side who have some real touches of class. Felt proud after the efforts of recent weeks and was fantastic to see them roared off at the end in stark comparison to our last trip over there. Effort was good, just couldn't the ball off them in the second half, and a couple of vital moments went against us and we couldn't get back in the game after they got ahead.
Interesting to note we lost 38-12 at home to Wigan and 38-6 on Saturday, but the performances weren't on the same scale despite the similarities of the score. Just need to play well against Hull on Saturday now.

Why oh why does our great coach put a centre and a stand off on the wings Still good time had by all apart from the pound/Euro rate meaning a 40% rise in costs. Bad news was United also losing (I did a one man Boycott as I do not agree to the semi being at Wembley)
DID U THINK RATCHFORD PLAYED BADLY. THINK AGAINST WARRINGTON AND LEEDS BOTH HIM AND LITTLER KEPT AN AUSSIE INTERNATIONAL AND GB PLAYER SENIOR AND THERE WINGERS V QUIET DOESNT DESERVE TO BE DROPPED.
Great weekend, great turnout, empty pockets due to the price of a pint, still I do it again.
Agree with the comments, played well in the first half with some great defensive stints, undone with some silly errors, which cost us, we were very tired in the second half but good effort, very different to the last time we were there.
Enjoyed the crack in the bar's outside the ground before the match, with a group of frogs who looked like they been let out of the nutty house.
Well done Salford, went Hull, leeds & Perpignan & can honestly say have had my money's worth.

I know Ratchford does OK on the wing but it still is not his natural position.
As for putting Goulding on the wing now that is a different matter all together

so does he deserve to be dropped? he is never going to replace smith is it may be best for the lad if he goes out on loan to a club where he can play in the halves

Agreed. I didn't think we were that bad, to be honest. Just couldn't get into the game second half. Everyone seemed upbeat still coming out of the ground and it was a belting trip. In fact it was United who put a downer on the weekend!

I manage to watch some of the game over the net, thought the Catalan try
just before half time was the game breaker which left to much work to do in the 2nd half.
John Wilshere mom for me.

Got back last night, many a story to tell, see red or dead later!
As for the game, I thought 1st half we played very well and with previous comments on this thread THAT second try was never a try, he lost the ball but shame on Adamson at that point for not playing to the whistle, otherwise he had a good 1st half making plenty of ground and good tackling, also as mentioned Goulding was well off the pace and he and Wilshere were a fault for the third try, they should have just booted it out after some fantastic defence. Second half was a none event, Catalans played the percentages and it worked for them. I don't blame the weather TBH it wasn't that warm when the game kicked off and it also started raining by the middle of the first half. Anyway under all circumstances I actually thought the players tried to compete and thats all we asked and they deserved their rousing applause at the end of the game from what I'd say was about 200+ who made the trip!
this will not be the end, or even the beginning of the end.
It is merely the end of the beginning
