Hey folks,

Before i start i just wanna say well done over easter, your really starting to turn things round & it's great to see. So well done, hope it continues.

So, I'm just trying to gauge where everyone is regarding our new stadiums. Had a quick look on google but couldn't find a press release for a while from you lot.
Anyone got any links?
I expected there would be a slow-down ala the rest of the world.
To the best of your knowledge has funding been secured? Thats the big issue for a lot of clubs now. I'm just glad we have someone like Rodney Walker to spearhead that drive!

I have to say the designs look great, can't wait to visit.

Anyways good luck and hope the good run continues!

I thought it was a dead set, the work that started, was it just ground clearance and leveling like at cas?
Do you have a stadium action group in place, SWAG (stadium wakefield action group) have been a rock for both the fans and the club, i would assume you have something similar at Salford.
Not just as lobbying tool but also a point of ref for fans, the club, council and investors our action group has been the bee's knee's through some testing times.

I was led to believe that work was due to be started on the Barton site in July ?

Perhaps the information I was fed was not true in the first place who knows it will soon be July

Brilliant news! Fingers crossed, if you have the money if ever there was a good time to build now would be it!

It's not been mentioned on here, but Salford Council's planning committee sat on Thursday to discuss the Port Salford planning application - which I think is pretty key to the progress of the stadium as it too is being built by Peel and will share road infrastructure. The planners recommended approval, but the planning committee deferred the decision - don't know why or when until, but I'd expect movement when that is approved.

How much council involvement is there? is it financial help or just consultation?

The stadium is privately financed, but the developers who are building the stadium (which has planning permission) also want to build a new port on the Ship Canal and I think that they are unlikely to start the stadium before they get the OK for the port as the developments will be sharing access infrastructure. We need the council's planning committee to give the port the go ahead - the council's planners have recommneded it for approval as it will bring plenty of new jobs, but for some reason the planning committee has delayed it.
