I tried that, but they said no. Such was the shortage of MOM contenders, I wanted to pick Ganson, but they said no as well. They wouldnt even let me pick a Celtic player.

Speaking of the cheerleaders, though, I was in the tunnel at half time after meeting Harrison Hansen, and they walked past. They're nicer up close.

I agree about it being the worst MOM seen at the JJB for a long while.

He had a steady game, but nothing that stood out to make him MOM. Like the team as a whole lets see how he goes against better opposition.

Man of the match implies said person must have balls.

His defence didn't stand out as much as he was defending outside Gleeson and so had cover. (see Sean Long at Stains)

Ball in hand he dictated the play and laid on 4 tries. 2 directly and 2 by creating the space with a quick ball. When Phelps knocked on over the line it was a split second ball. He spotted the gap and ran to the opposite side of the ptb to what he was, took the ball off Piggy and ALMOST put Phelps over. Had the pass been slightly later it was try time.

Probably the first time he's played behind a dominant pack and he controlled.

Fair enough pal. I'm glad you agree, though I happily admit my choice was more down to luck than design.

Agree with every word. It was a toss-up between Coley and Smith IMO.

To say Hock was bad though is harsh. He gave them nightmares running with the ball they couldn't bring him down.

Shame kept dropping the ball again though, isnt it?

Clearly though, you wouldn't have said that if you didn't know who made the decision, so your opinion is null and void, obviously.

Timmy's problem is simple. Wigan fans make their mind up on a player on his debut. If you're crap then you're crap for life. If you're an Aussie and crao on debut then you've no chance.

Piggy threw a bad ball in the second half and some clown told him to go home and lets throw the youngsters in.

He also seemed to have an agenda against Roberts who is apparently 'a waste of space'. Had it been Ainscough who missed the tackle or allowed the chip to go over his head (quality attacking play I thought) i'm sure it would have been fine.

Also no groans, moans or beratings when Sam knocked on and yet a few when Phelps did :?

Funny, I thought that the idea of forums was to give opinion, which I did so what's the problem?

Exactly. Tim Smith has the ability to be a very good player for us and today IMO he looked the busiest of the team, really wanting to impress. His defence improved although against weaker opposition.
