Warrington led 16-2 in Saturday's Grand Final, but their joy was short-lived as Wigan roared back to win the Super League title and extend the Wire's 58-year wait to be champions
MOM in the most boring game of rugby I have seen for a long time. The best part was the basketball after the final whistle.
The two lowest points of the game for me were:
1) Kicking, where has Richards kicking gone?
2) Players not playing to the whistle, a good few occasions when the ball was knocked on the players just stopped if it were a game against a better side lots of ground would have been lost.
I admit it. It was me who made him MOTM. Here's why.
He was the only one who didn't make any silly mistakes. Phelps had a good un, but he childishly let their first try in, and cost me about £50 in lost winnings, so he wasn't f*cking getting it. Our forwards were ordinary. Richards was a contender, but he missed loads of goals. Leuluai was OK. Basically no one stood out. Our best players, actually, were the ones who were used as interchanges. Picking one of them would be a bit like picking James Roby for Man Of Steel.
There were two clinchers, however; One of the girls fancied him, and the other was that I fancied meeting him to see if he really was a bit - erm - challenging, given that the MOTM is obliged to come and talk to the people in the Prawn Sandwich lounge, where I was. I'm happy to say that he is a character, but was utterly charming and friendly.
Plus, I paid about a grand for the privilege, so I'll pick who I damn well like. Irrespective of how they play. That said, one of the girls likes Gaz Hock, and I actually decided before the match that I would pick him just for her, but sadly, he was sh i t, and I couldn't justify it.
In any case, I'm sure that you seasoned supporters know very well by now that the MOTM award is never accurate, probably due to the copious amounts of alcohol served in the Prawn Sandwich lounge.

does that mean i could pay a grand and choose a cheer leader as MOM and get to interview her after the match ???
Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.

Personally mate I thought your decision was spot on.
His defence didn't stand out as much as he was defending outside Gleeson and so had cover. (see Sean Long at Stains)
Ball in hand he dictated the play and laid on 4 tries. 2 directly and 2 by creating the space with a quick ball. When Phelps knocked on over the line it was a split second ball. He spotted the gap and ran to the opposite side of the ptb to what he was, took the ball off Piggy and ALMOST put Phelps over. Had the pass been slightly later it was try time.
Probably the first time he's played behind a dominant pack and he controlled.
