we wonder why players dont have confidence, they got behind the sticks and a select amount of fans just screamed that at them, if your a fan you stick with your team through thick and thin and get behind the boys instead of singing that, it was cringeworthy

Al you must of heard that song it was right at the side of where you was sat

To be honest they have a point. If I was there I'd have probably joined in, especially having paid all that money and taking time off work to go, only to see some of the players not bother to put a proper shift in - the slow walk to form a scrum when a couple of scores behind being a classic example.

The most cringeworthy thing for me are those happy clappers who have a go at fans for letting their feelings be known. One of the turning points of last season for me, which got us to within a game of the Grand Final was when a large proportion of the crowd at the Huddersfield game let rip with "you're not fit to wear the shirt". I dare say it focused the players minds for the rest of the season.

I wonder why some people think we should clap and support regardless of the performances?

In my opinion if a team is expecting support they have to earn it, this current mob have not earned it.

In order to receive criticism then a team has to deserve it, this current mob have earned that right.

I never sing or chant at rugby its not my thing but i can understand others who wish to come together and express there view in this mannor as it seems fitting at the moment.

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

There'll always be this argument about whether teams who are showing nothing should be given stick or noisily supported.

I'm divided on this. Emotion often gets the better of me and I shout angrily during matches, but I pride myself on never having booed.

That said, I fully understand why people do. These guys are earning a fortune for doing what they love, and at present are giving very little back in return (in fact they've given very little back for quite a while).

It's also worth getting the message to the players that it's not them as individuals that the fans worship - it's the shirt they wear. To us, wearing the cherry and white should be an honour, but I get the impression that very few of the current Wigan players have this attitude - so it's not suprising that the fans are often insensed with them.

cue lots of clapping and cheering when they plodding towards the scrum :x

It is a hard pill to swallow but unbelievably true.

Happy clappers are frustrating, as are those that will be nothing but negative (the woman who sits near me). But everyone pays their money and is entitled to an opinion.

What is sure is, if dross is served up this week, the majority of the crowd are likely to turn very quickly.

Song is about greatest club in the world - not greatest team. Why should fans stop singing that one

I've had it with these seals blindly clapping along. The fans that expressed their frustrations with a song deserved to after paying all that money to go and watch that pile of rubbish, fwiw i didn't join in myself.

I'm not one to sing anti-Wigan songs or boo, but I can certainly understand supporters fustations when the players are playing poorly.

By certain sections of the crowd showing their fustration, it might get through to players the sacrifices that supporters make to actually follow them to places like Perpignan.

Without this being directed towards any posts in this thread, I do find it funny how some supporters feel threatened by other supporters who are willing/able to follow the team every game which puts themself into insecurity. But reality is, if it wasn't for die hards including those who were in Perpignan, then there probably wouldn't be a Wigan Rugby League.

Regards,

A catergory 1 supporter/clique memeber etc.
