Theft,pickpocketing,fighting,causing enough aggravation by blocking the turnstyles were all tactics used to try to gain entry to those matches by fans of all clubs
You can deny it all you like , as for proof , well that wont happen as none of the fans there that day without a ticket are going to admit it
The police officer was in a no win situation , if one fan had died outside then he would have taken the blame for it , he stated that he opened the gates because people's lives were in danger outside the ground because of the crush of people
