Great effort, thats all you can ask for after a poor display in the 1st leg.

Brilliant attacking display last night and I'm proud of the lads for that. Benitez deserves a big rap for that as he sent a team out without Gerrard who got more than the required goals to send us through. My only disappointment was our central defence really, as Torres looked injured from minute zero. Carragher looked laboured and I'm still not sure if Skrtel as it at the very highest level. Anyhow, the midfield trio were magnificent, including Lucas. He was thrust into Gerrard's role last night, scored one and popped up everywhere throughout the game. He certainly didn't let us down and the muppet bagging him needs to watch the game again.
A great dig, but ultimately our poor second half performance at Anfield cost us. You have to hand it to Chelsea for their resilience last night and as much as I hate the c*nt, Drogba was awesome.

Erm actually I'd say our poor 2nd half showing last night cost us. We did concede 4 goals after all
The defensive qualities on show throughout this tie makes me think Barce would tear either team a new ar$eh0le.....

Nope, as I said earlier and what Paul M said, Liverpool had to keep it tight after getting 2 in front on the night, they didn't and it became like basketball and in that scenario there was only going to be one winner.
The only time Liverpool led in the tie was at Anfield, but they lost the lead and ultimately the tie.

No it didn't, we were never in front or in a winning position and that never changed at all during last nights game. Yes, we played well in the first half last night and gave ourselves a chance, but that's it, we were never in a leading position to lose it.
We lost the tie and deservedly so at Anfield.

If we didn't concede 4 2nd half goals last night, Liverpool would be in the semis, regardless of what went on at Anfield.

The fact is we had to keep attacking and it was always gonna leave gaps at the back, if we hadnt kept giving chelski easy freekicks in and around the box it could have been a totally different outcome.
