total rubbish down to 12, what a good actor mcnally is, he should get a oscar, you would have thought he had been shot,, soon got up when he had seen he had got the penalty, the hit was legal by larder, ok he got a slap in the mush off roberts, he may have scored 3 try,s, but he is crap, talk about lazy, with ball in hand all he wants to do is pass it on, scared to take the line on,
He is far from crap Sean, he's only 17/18!!!! He is just a poacher at the moment with great potential to be a quality half-back in the years to come. He is very similar to how Danny McGuire was when he started out in 2003, or how Ben Black was when he came to us.
one thing we have to remember about yesterdays 2nd half perfomance was that the players were backing up from Thursdaty night, coupled with a long trek up there yesterday.
This was a great result for us, one which a lot of other teams will struggle to match up there (just like at Barrow).
I like what MC has to say in the Courier that we can play much better than so far we've only scratched the surface as to the team potential.
As for Mcnally, whilst I didnt see the game yesterday I take it he "Poached" his tries yesterday, as he did at the Shay in last years play offs. To me he's still not a patch on Myler or other younger scum halves. I agree with Sean, I havent seen him take on the line.

The tries he scored were well worked. The first two were great supporting efforts running off the shoulder of the man with the ball. The third was opportunistic kick/dribble through on the line. The third one, fax should have done better for sure but the support work deserves the effort if the ball carrier gets the pass off. That's what he does well.
although he needs to learn the creative side a bit more. Plus put a bit of weight on for super league, but that will come with age.

2nd half we battered them. They are a good side but are not invincible. They should have been down to 12 due to a cheap shot on McNally but again the Ref bottled it.
I agree tho Fax are the side to beat
Wasn't even a foul, the ef only stopped play after we knocked on and saw McNally was still on the floor crying like a girl.

Mcnally is a whining girl, and a diving cheat, so I expect him to be at Leeds very soon.
But he is a cracking player. Well-timed support play is something you cannot teach, and only the few can do it. His third try was all his own work. He isnt a general true, but that doesnt make him lazy or poor - just a different style of halfback. Blacky isnt a dictator - thats a role I see Beswick or whoever is on at acting half fulfilling at the moment.
Were some of you lot watching the right match. He was floored 2nd half TWICE but only 1 got noticed. It was a cheap shot.
The sooner Refs start sorting your players out the better. I know your favourites but that doesn't excuse officials giving you "special treatment". Calvert got 10 for gobbing off to the linesman when he was blatantly taken out. If you win the league then it will done with extra help

Extra Help? Yeah your right, Laughton passed the ball twice in one of our moves in the first half and missed a couple of tackles for you later in the same half!!
All the right and wrong decisions even themselves out over the season.
Congratulations on the victory. Fax's first half display was the best first half that I have seen in many years at the Recre. If they had continued to play in the same manner in the second-half, the score would have been frankly embarrassing for Haven.
Forget all the comments about dodgy forward passes, the referee favouring 'Fax etc (he seemed to favour whoever had momentum), it was a well deserved victory.
However, in the second-half, it was as if Fax had pressed the self-destruct button from the initial kick-off onward. This gave Haven momentum, which in other circumstances could well have led to a drawn game, especially if Karl Edmonson had held onto the crash ball he received a couple of metres from the line with a couple of minutes left.
The mixed comments about Gregg McNally make for interesting reading. He is perhaps a more creative player than he is given credit for, as a number of the tries in the game against Toulouse came from his passing game. As yet, he does not take on the line, which may be due to the requirements of the game plan the team are given, but his support play is superb for someone who is still in the Sixth Form at Whitehaven School. 18 tries in 10 games is an impressive statistic by any measure of the imagination.

Makes a refreshing change to see an honest post on here, not blinkered by team loyalty.
Very good description of the ref. Think he might have checked out the penalty count at half time (something like 7-2 in favour of us) and tried to even it up.
McNally is a good prospect and you are very lucky that he is still at school and based up there because I am sure Huddersfield would love to have him training full-time, right diet etc etc.
I did notice that it was your first post, I'm fairly new on here too, get ready to be absolutely infuriated by some of the most outrageous rugby opinions ever!! All good fun
