I don't know how many games but I do know he was behind Kimmorley and Roberts in the pecking order to be a half back. He was used as a utility player like Wigan are using him. The best game we have seen from him by a mile was against Stains when he played an attacking ball playing role at full back, we also saw a decent kicking game from him too which he has never before been given license to do. It has also been well documented on here that the aussies rated him highest when he played at 6 which after the Stains game supports this.

You don't know that he would not be an improvement on the players that played tonight because you haven't seen him play at 6. I am not saying he would be a definite improvement but I think he deserves a chance to show what he's got. Our main problem lies in the front row but the combination of Sam at 6 Tommy at 7 and Riddell/ McIlorum at 9 is not doing very well at the moment so I was just saying I would like to see Phelps given a go at 6 with Sam at 7 and Tommy at 9. That would put all 3 players in what I think our their best positions and it MAY be an improvement on what we have playing currently so I think its worth giving a go.

it was always said get the spine of the team right,ie 1,6,7,9,13 and you can get away with half decent players in other positions. we have a 1 who should be at 2, 6 should be at 7,7 should be at 9, 9 not as good as 9 we got rid of and 13 should be at 12. is it any wonder were no good.
also coach should be at bradford.

It doesnt matter who our 1-7 is if the forwards dont set the platform. That is a simple fact of rugby league life. If your going backwards with no quick play the balls, it doesnt matter who gets the ball at half back because it is nigh on impossible to win a game like that.

as long as we are playing behind a beaten pack this will happen all the time i wud give noble till next year and see if he gets the recruitment right if we don't let Stu and coley co then their is something wrong all the talk coming out of wigan since lenagan took over has been about 2010 so i think this season has been written off all ready they built the best team they can with the money we have under the cap if we win something then great but if we don't we will hear about the team building lenagen even said in the interview when we got gleeson we have been forced in to bringing in gap fillers like Carmon and tim smith and even mentioned carmont in that so i am happy to Waite till 2010 i like noble so give him a chance till 2010 but we have to get the the players we need and all we need is a good set of props an adrian morley/ scot logan/steve price type if we had them what a team we cud be

World class but unfortunatly it meant nothing.

Shame as if it had been earlier in the game it would have been raved about all season long.

If Inglis or Folau had pulled that one off it would have gone down in history.

That for me is a very astute analysis of whats wrong at Wigan.

Noble doesn't know where to play people to get the best out of them and there are too many players in the squad whose natural position is the same one meaning that players are having to play each week not in their most effective positons.
