As others have said he was easily our best player today and given the Cusack injury it will give him the chance to shine.

That's encouraging and depressing in equal measure TBH.

I get what your saying however if we had played like we did today on Friday we would have won IMO.

I actually came away from the game thinking there was plenty of positives to take.

Really? What was the difference today in your opinion?

I agree with you on both counts. Plenty of effort despite the lads clearly being fatigued from Friday. Saints were bigger and faster - we need to get our recruitment right in the next 3 years to improve the size and power of the team. Shorter term we looked better when we moved the ball and against many other teams we would have done enough today. Loads to work on but Friday was nowhere near as bad as the overreaction of some and today there were positives.

Must admit that, apart from us dropping the ball far too often, the radio coverage also sounded like we had improved over Friday's performance.

Here's hoping we can take some confidence from today and build on it.

It sounds encouraging but unless this performance is backed up with further improvement on Friday against Wakefield it will count for nothing. We need to win and stop the slide asap.

Its the kicking game which needs improving as yet again we giving Saints good field position off of the back of our poor kicking game.

Seems odd that we went away from the tactic Sharp always employed against Saints of kicking it dead which worked really well i thought.

Thought Washbrook made a massive difference today as he is such a smart footballer plus a running and passing threat which we lack when Radford starts at 13.

The off the ball running for the Calderwood and G.Horne try was very good but its a shame we had to go behind by so many points before we start actually spreading the ball out.

If you compared our sets from the first half when we were in Saints 20 to the sets in the second half it would look like a entirely different side.
