At 10-8 the game was in the balance but I thought the turning point was Lovegrove's injury which was caused by a Hudds player's "chicken wing" tackle - injuries are part and parcel of the game but this one's caused by illegal tackle technique are not one
Rovers looked potent in attack but were generally outmuscled in the middle which restricted our field position and we got nothing at all from Thaler.
I appreciate refs have a difficult job and the standard of reffering has improved this season, but along Sliverwood, Thaler has proved on multiple occasions he has his agenda - the guy is a low-life.
Thaler aside, Hudds deserved their win and I hope we avoid them in the cup.
Completely agree. Thaler is scum and doesn't deserve to ref. Even with a decent referee we would have lost. Huddersfield have massive forwards, and as you said, deserve their place in the table and I hope, along with us, they can challenge Leeds and Saints for silverware.

As for Thaler having an agenda .....
Of course but we still were in the game at that point with the kicking games turning their massive forwards around but when Lovegrove went off, it was pretty much one-way traffic.
I've seen enough performances from Thaler over the years to know he is a low-life. The "penalty try" at Wakefield last season is all you need to know about Thaler and Hull KR.

Still in the game on the scoreboard only. Rovers were getting murdered in the collision and round the ruck, Robinson was kicking them to death and it was just a matter of time before Rovers fatigued. If Lovegrove had have stayed on the result would have been the same.
They have big forwards, pacy backs and clever halves. Their coach is top class and has them very well drilled and well organised.
The comments on Thaler are just pathetic.

The Thaler comments are spot on. He is just so inconsistant. You will get two identical incidents within a few minues of each other, and he will give two different decisions!. I know all ref make mistakes which is fine, but he is just shockingly inconsistant in his decision making, need a few weeks in the championship to try and get him up to SL level. He is by far the worst ref in SL.

apparently had 8 fresh players back who were rested against celtic, good use of rotation. thought before the game we were going to be lightweight in the front row. wish millsy would pull his finger out, get a bit of form goin and get back in the mix.

I think both hull teams today have suffered the effects from a grueling derby match, even though we wouldnt of won today if we had had a weeks rest befor the game
We got beat by a very good side. Rovers have to be at thier best to beat them & they were not. As for the ref some odd decisions early on & Giants were stood in front of him every time. You can not blame them, but can ask why we did not push our luck with him. There was a lot of forward passes which is spoiling the game & why cant the touch judge keep in line with the play instead of worrying about the defence line? I watched the Giants tackling as there has been a lot of press talk obout it, It was not nice to watch but apart from maybe a couple nothing wrong & good luck to them they are good at it, Again I must ask why when the Aussies have moved on & now dont allow lying on we have gone backwards from last year. Last year the Giants would have been penalised off the pitch for laying on now the coaches have got what they wanted they are making the most of it,

I'd go with that, Huddersfield used every trick in the book to benefit their game, this isn't a criticism of them, because it worked well. Rovers lacked ideas, energy and any cutting edge and I'm more concerned how we react and recover from this defeat than the defeat itself.
