I think yesterday, he wrote that one off before the bus pulled up. That said, I thought Liverpool were great, created lots of opportunities and played with purpose, not always seen when Steven Gerrard doesn't play.
With Stoke coming up he did the right thing in keeping McCarthy on the bench as he's more likely to win us the game against Stoke than at Anfield and we didn't need to risk getting him injured when all our other forwards are already injured.

As someone who watched it on setanta I disagree. There wasn't a clear gulf in the second half and a point is a fair reflection of the game.
All this talk of a geordie revival just because Messiah 2 has arrived is somewhat premature. You have the exact same players as before and Alan seemed to just stand on the touchline shouting "Eh!" at the referee every time a tackle took place. After years of seeing Mr Personality on match of the day it's actually quite something to see him swear his head off again, but a point against stoke considering the run in and time running out should be seen as something of a disaster right now.
Instead your all remarking about green shoots of revival that I just can't see yet.

Apart from in the 6-0 win against Portsmouth he was absolutely dire for City, and allegedly a source of unrest in the dressing room. Even if he scores another 5 goals for Everton I wouldnt want him back.

Shame City blew £18m on him then.
