Just out of interest what kind of money was Reggie Regan on at Wigan a few years back? I know it wont be $1m but surely he wont have been cheap knowing Wigan

A resolution to form a St George rugby league club was made at a local meeting held in early 1908, but the movement faltered and collapsed. St George, wearing the district colours of red and white, played in the NSWRL's Third Grade competition in 1910, and formed a President's Cup team in 1911. johns was on around $400,000 - $500,000 pa plus extras
there are hints from dally here johns must of been making a total of a million per year or even more . he was a great player . but he was not the 1st
