I don't know what Stevo was on about saying it want back. How can you slap a ball with the palm of your hand and it go back? This guy is a joke and i'm glad Clarkey shut him up.

I know, laughable wasn't it?

Clarky also knew straight away that Webb was in an offside position when Leeds strung together their left channel attack from Burrow. Stevo had no idea about that one.

Im just glad there is a proper anorak of the game like Phil Clarke to actually offer up some of the actual rules and regulations of the game.

I remember a while back Lee Briers took a tap penalty by tapping the ball just under his knee and Stevo nearly blew a gasket saying it wasn't tapped properly - untile Clarkey piped up with the actual ruling!

Thought Menzies knocking the ball backwards, literally turning his body in midair was superb yet the TV experts missed it.

Well, after that I think we can agree on one thing with our friends from Hull... they may disagree with us about whether the Wigan-Saints derby or the Hull derby is the biggest but the Airport derby is clearly an also-ran. Shocking crowd for a bank holiday derby between two "City" clubs.

As a measure, this week has shown in terms of attraction, we have the biggest draw for a derby.

Had Thursday's game been yesterday, it would have been a 25,000 sell out, again. That is neither here nor there. But for the fishermen to only gets a hundred or so more people in when their population dwarves our towns combined populations, it shows just what a draw the Saints Wigan derby is.

On top of that, since the end of the Second World War, Saints and Wigan have been THE teams in rugby league. Between us we have attracted some of the finest players from these shores and abroad. In terms of quality, and passion, it cannot be matched. Of course there are anomolies, where one side has dominated the other for so long, but testament to the derby, in all of Saints post 96 success, Wigan have the upper hand in derby games.

People came from Barrow, Staffordshire, Northampton Newcastle and all places beyond and between for Friday (and there just the ones I know about).

There is no derby like a Saints Wigan Derby. As the Stone Roses sang; "This is the one"

Edited for accuracy though not for spelling.

Looked a little light on the edges of the North (Stains end) granted. Can't comment on the other stands.

Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

Considering yours was early afternoon on a bank holiday, with it also being a home game for all the fans, instead of needing to travel for a late start after a day at work, leaving a very late night finish, you should have made it a sell out.
Personally, I like the KC stadium and the atmosphere, and it certainly looked and sounded terrific yesterday.

Dan Sarginson: "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to join the biggest name in the competition" 18/10/2013

Tony Clubb: "This is a new exciting chapter of my life signing for Wigan and I couldn't be happier" 18/10/2013

Romain Navarrete: “I’m very happy to have signed for Wigan Warriors. As soon I knew that Wigan were interested, they were the only team that I wanted to sign for. To me, Wigan is the biggest Club in Rugby League and it will be an honour to pull on the famous Cherry-and-White jersey next year. I look forward to working with Shaun Wane and the players at Wigan.”

No over 23k is a sell out at the KC for health and safety purposes or not. The Dull Derby was a good 700-1000 off a sell out. Ours only didnt sell out because it was on easter thurs. If youd have swaped the days and times around for these games I would have imagined the codhead derby would have got approx 20k while wigan v saints would have been a 24k sell out!
