Saints defence was aoutstanding last night and i do not think off that performance there is much to have a pop at the coach for, one thing that did annoy me was his subbing by the clock, took a few players off who were going well for no reason really it seemed to me.

We are limited in attack and that is his fault but at least we showed comittment last night something we have not for much of the season. I still do not think he is the man to take us forward never have but a bit harsh to have a po on last nights performance i feel, problem is we have to do it consistantly which is something he simply never has managed as a Wigan or GB coach.

Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.

How people can expect immediate gratification and success amazes me.

What on earth are you on about? Noble has been here (I think ) three years come Monday. Immediate gratification? Give me a break.

Quote:If you were in business and went through all those problems and upheaval, there is no way you could expect the business to work effectively, as it takes time for things and people to settle down. I'm still of the view that gradual improvement followed by consistent quality performance will do for me. A new coach now could set us back again.

We are not seeing any gradual improvement. We have been going backwards since the end of 2006 and that is a demonstrable fact not an opinion.

And why would a new coach set us back again? If the current coach is taking us backwards, we need a new coach. I was of the opinion Noble should see the season out but if we continue as we have started, the players will be so bloody demoralised by end of it his replacement will inherit a team of basket cases.

Changing a coach after three years who has failed to deliver improvement is sensible not some knee jerk reaction.

Dave

Wayne Bennett would struggle to coach this Wigan side. To put it simply, it doesn't have enough quality players to compete with the top teams.

If Noble - alone - is responsible for transfer activity then the buck stops with him. If there is interference from the board then Noble can't be blamed. Especially if he didn't want players X, Y & Z in the first place.

It competed with a top team last night.

Will be interesting to see how Wigan compete at Murrayfield on a more even playing field.

That's not to say they won't, but that Saints team was held together by sellotape after the 2 games with Leeds.

Oh, another of these mythical 'more even playing fields'. How long have you guys been dining out on this sort of thing now - 10 years?

You got a lucky bounce, pal. Deal with it.

Deal with what? Beating you again? Being top of the league?

Fact is Saints were shot and a better side would have taken advantage. I expect Murrayfield to be a more accurate reflection, having not played Leeds twice in a fortnight.

Wigan lost (in a match where they gave pretty much everything they had) with the advantages of playing at home and freshness.

Looking at Wigan's results and league position - QED.

Wigan went to a Challenge Cup Final with players sellotaped together and still won easily. Against St Helens of all teams
