I can assure you that I have spoken to several directors or chairmen of various clubs who have done it in full knowledge that they are unlikely to see it again.

Are they likely to tell you otherwise I don't think so.

So in 18 months time when we really will be knee deep in $hit and sinking fast and the job of rebuilding is even harder we ca say thank good we didn't spend that unnecessary money.
I refer the honourable gentleman to posts I have made earlier about the unsatisfactory and now unacceptable team performance. And also my location...
Poor performance is not connected with having little money - until and unless of course it means players are not paid or it otherwise impacts on them. I've not seen anyone excusing poor performance with lack of money. What I HAVE seen is a few people pointing out that there is not the money there to splash out on chequebook solutions.
For the last time - WHERE is the money coming from?? As far as I can tell, the club is living pretty well hand to mouth (and it won't be the only one). So I repeat - where, please? What would YOU do if you had a major household emergency, had no savings, had no tangible assets to sell, had declining income from one at least of your main sources, had no debts but were not able to borrow any significant amount of money, but had to find a decent wadge from somewhere at short order?

Serious question!
I don't know. But do we ignore the main problem which is effecting the club that their isn't any sign of noticeable improvement on any front. Ther is also the growing discontent of an increasing amount fans who seam to have the feeling that we are treated as idiots by the club. I know of a fair amount of people who are seriously contemplating not renewing their season ticket next year mainly due to the performance's this year. But the letter which came with last years renewal form hasn't helped the one where we would be "excited" by the signings for this season. It's easy to say that we can't afford to change but sooner rather than later it will get to the stage where we can't afford not to make the change.

Me neither That's what makes this all so bloody frustrating. Maybe we sit and pray for Mick Gledhill to win a few million and plough most of it into the club? After all, that's about as likely as anything else on the horizon.
It makes you wonder just how much lasting and potentially fatal damage the Harris debacle with Leeds did us. Gives you a nice warm feeling inside doesn't it, to think that Leeds managed to do to us off the pitch what for quite a few years they were not able to do to us on it? Makes you feel even better when you think that - as it belatedly transpired - the damage appeared to be substantially self-inflicted at the hands of certain people no longer with us, who somehow failed to give us the whole picture at the time.
Maybe if our lot can just stop collapsing as soon as the other side pile some pressure on, we can turn the corner. Maybe I'll find a pot of gold at the bottom of my garden. Maybe if I DID, I'd not be dumb enough to plough it into the bottomless pit that is any kind of sporting club...

But IMO the Harris mess is being repeated now because we aren't dealing with our growing problems which are effecting us at this present time.

I am pretty sure he actually said the full cap was available to McNamara. We're obviously not currently spending that full amount, but where did he lie?

Well he may have said he's allowed full cap in the press, but in actual fact told him he can't?

Or more likely the full cap was going to be spent at the time but something has changed on the budget front (season tickets, cash flow, non returning sponsor? - I don't know) that makes it less prudent (Thank you Mr Broon) to spend the full cap now.
