Are the fixture posters still done? (seem to remember comments about them at the start of the year) they were usually displayed in a lot of takeaways and the like.
I know when a Circus or similar is in town, they get local shops to display their posters by Giving a ticket or two the the shopkeeper, which they can use them self or pass onto a staff member. A Circus style poster with a white box where the next fixture can be easly printed into could be a quite cheap option, just need a way to distribute them about.
Was actually thinking something similar myself as I think the advertising boards as Yob says would be too expensive.Does anyone know the people who are taking the old Clare Hall school down across the road from the Shay .They might be willing to let a big banner go up for now, obviously they will not want it there when it`s finished.Another spot is the pointed window that sticks out at the Electric bowl ,what about taking one of the advertising things they use in hospitality that pulls up out of a cigar shaped thing. We could maybe come to some arrangment with them to advertise the Electric Bowl at our matches in return.

Would be good to have a big new sign for The Shay saying 'Welcome to the Shay - Home of Halifax RLFC and AFC Halifax Town' when the East Stand is finished plus separate new boards to advertise 'whats on'.
Maybe one for the fans if CMBC won't pay for it but will allow them to be put up, one on Skircoat Road and one at Shay Syke???

A better option would be to contact land owners on the borders and see if we can erect a permenant sign that is bigger and cheaper.
I'm sure farmers would be happy to let the signs be put up in their fields for £500 or less.
One of the problems with the mobile A board was that if it was left parked up, the lights would be smashed and the tyres slashed, but we did then find a permanent spot for it up at the Moorlands pub at Ogden, but I don't know if it's still there.
Went by there the other day and don't recall seeing it, I always chuckled as I drove by it in the past as both players which were pictured on the board were no longer playing for us. (Joel Penney and Gibbo I think).

You see it at other grounds, a pretty standard board and then you slide in characters to spell out the opponents and date for the next match. Very simple but effective.
Possibly something the two trusts could look at sorting.

why not approach Complete Building Materials to see if they would sponsor the timber etc required to build such a sign. Im sure we have fans who are chippies who could build us one. Its an investment towards future fans.

Yes that`s a good idea but I still think we should be spreading the word farther afield through the rest of the town.I think the poster in shops with a couple of free tickets is an excelent idea I was in a shop in town the other day who had just had a visit from the circus folk.I am sure some people would volunteer to take them around the town if we had some tickets to hand out.It would cost very little really.

Well if we are teaming up it will have to be partisan something like Home in Sport For Calderdale as we could end up debating for months as to whose name should come first .
