The performance on the field of play will always determine the size of the crowd in my opinion
------forget the state of the art stadium,it means nothing to the fans who pay good money.

Its been obvious to everyone with an ounce of common-sense that the team we have assembled
this season will find it very tough in the Championship, infact to be honest the current team would
have done well to finish mid table in NL2 last season, even with Ellery as coach.

The only way that we will compete with other teams in our division would be if all the team made
the same improvement that Castle has made and thats not going to happen.

Forget the talk of going for Super-League in 2012 and lets get realistic here and look at what
we can achieve this season--and to be honest unless there are changes in the squad
(and i know that will be hard with the situation we are in at the moment)then we must be odds
on already for the drop come September.

It's sad to see the crowd's falling off so dramatically and so early, but they will only get worse
off the back of performances that the fans have had to endure over the past couple of weeks.

I hope the squad can prove me wrong and turn things around but i just can't see it happening---the nucleus is just not there

We have been stripped of too many quality players (Gale, Lawrie, Luisi, Wood) and have simply not been able to replace them with anything like the same calibre of player. That would have been tough enough if we had remained in NL2 but this squad is simply not ready for NL1.

I know it's catch-22 but the reality is if the results don't improve the support will dwindle and we will also get relegated, which for those who buy into the 2012 SL-bid philosophy would be a real negative. I only mention this as it is referenced in the previous post, I don't buy it myself!

Thought the first 10 minutes were pretty decent with a fair amount of enthusiasm but this soon faded away, as did my interest.

Surprised that Craig Cook hasn't had a positive mention. At least he has some go forward about him and tries to organise play - time for a change of team captain perhaps?

Holidays used to be booked to avoid clashes with home matches but I don't really care anymore. After 30 years of supporting, I'm starting to think it's time to pack it in.

I am in my 4th season supporting the dons properly. ( i used to go occasionally before then ) and i just think that the supporters are being a bit harsh with their comments.
To be honest we are lucky to have a club. We have survived for months without any financial backing which is a credit to everyone involved at the club.

Tony Miller has also had to his best with the budget he was given so it seems unfair to judge his coaching abilities on the results so far. Its already been stated but look at the players we have lost Gale,Lawrie,Luisi,Wood,Hart,Brolin,Texido and the players who have been injured this year Lawton,Benson,Leaf,Colton,Haley and its fair to say the squad is stretched already. We have brought in some relatively young and inexperienced players to replace them(probably because they are cheaper than experienced and proven players) and my fear is that unless we strengthen soon we will badly struggle.

Despite this i will keep coming and suppporting the club all year (aswell as Wakefield)

My main point is what more can the club do at this moment in time?
We now have financial backing and i just hope that the new people come on board and put some money into keeping us up!

One last thing 'Good Luck for tomorrow lads'
My prediction Dons 24 Eagles 18 :D

I don't think it is necessarily the results that people are commenting on but the performances. We don't seem to be able to do the simple basics right and have no apparent game plan. i agree we have lost some quality and replaced them with mainly young inexperienced lads, this however doesn't mean we should be playing without enthusiasm and be able to complete the basics well. I am really cheesed off having to watch the Dons not only outplayed but out enthused as well.

My understanding is that the current intention of the backers is not to fund playing acquisitions but to help the Club behind the scenes with expertise in areas such as Legal, Marketing etc.

The players look low on confidence to me. Its frustrating to see experienced players make basic errors time and time again but i think if we get those out of our game then we have something to work on.
Maybe thats just me being too positive though!

I hope the new backers realise the importance of staying up this year. Playing in division 2 next year surely wouldnt help their 3 year plan :?

Well i wasnt too far away with my prediction!

We havent been far off for a few weeks. We still have some improvements to make, but that win will do wonders for confidence.

Just hope all the players came through injury free.

Maybe a few people on here should give the lads and coaching staff a chance to turn things around. Its a bit early in the season to be making harsh judgements.

Good luck for monday lads for what will be a massive task, especially with only a few days rest

Nice to meet you Karlos. Based on tonight's showing, I suspect my idea of 2 ten minute halves would have played right in to your hands

Nice to see you as well mate.Youre right as well.Weve been like that all season up to now.Quick out of the blocks for 10 mins then we drop off for a bit and then strong again for the last 10.

See you for a pint at the next game mate.
