How mad and crazy is that?!

always remember a story in the mirror where they interviewed gleeson's dad before a big wire saints game. They asked him does he struggle to decide who to support when they play each other to which he replied it doesnt matter because I support wigan anyway. maybe it was more of what his family wanted

It is a hard pill to swallow but unbelievably true.

Maybe because he was at Saints and Warrington? A tad inappropriate don't you think?

exactly, it wasn't really his coice, same as when he came to Wire. The clubs talked and he got told. He's even admitted as much in a recent interview.

I cant believe that players turn down the chance to play and live in Austraila and play in the best competition and against the best players.

He would end up playing for an NRL's feeder team!

As we all know it's never been a secret that Gleeson wanted to sign for Wigan when he left Saints but wasn't allowed to. It isn't a ghange of heart as it's something he's wanted to do for a long time.

As for him mentioning he wanted to go to Australia next season he was never exactly going to come out and say "i want to leave Wire for Wigan this season" with the massive possibility in his own mind that Wigan might not actually want him!

Overall he's a very good signing for us. We need a right centre, halfback and prop of real international class to get us anywhere near challenging Leeds and Saints..................we've managed to attain the first and hopefully will have irons in the fire for the other 2.

I'm confused. Why have you got Gleeson in your avatar when you said this in the past?
