i had not seen the video when i first posted my thoughts on this,

i have now seen it THIS PLAYER SHOULD NEVER EVER PLAY RUGBY LEAGUE AGAIN, THE RFL SHOULD FINE HIM BIG, and also HULL KR should also fine him,

what for ????

biringing the name of rugby league disrepute . enough said,

as said in post before the ARL would of locked him up and thrown away the KEY after the player and the club had both been fined,

have a look at what the ARL have done so far this season with players and clubs who have brought the name of rugby league in to disrepute,

AS I SAID BEFORE THE RFL HAVE NO GUTS WHAT SO EVER.

END OF.

All those with higher than tho morals come to the fore after incident like these.

2 facts that appear to be forgotten!

1) the lad that was injured received mere cuts and bruises (not condoning by the way)

2) The injured party contacted Ben Cockayne and asked if he wanted to do 'deal' to save going to court.

How injured was the injured?

the club also should be fined for not handling there players ,

as over in aussie ,the ARL out there dont stand for nothing, before it even gets to court players have been fined suspended, and the clubs also fined,

and then they decide what they do after its been to court.

also stand bye MR REARDON AND PRYCE, THEY BOTH SHOULD OF BEEN FINED BY THE RFL AND SUSPENED along with the clubs both players play for.

but THE RFL AT RED HALL HAVE NO GUTS, enough said.

So this means kicking someone whilst they are down o.k. then.Yes I do have morals and giving someone a good kicking with the aid of a mate is not good in my book.I would have had the same views if this coward had been an F.C. player.

Where does it say it is OK???? My point is there is accuracy in reporting the whole issue....

zandor46 - as for me numbering up the points I thought you'd be used to that with your defence.

The abyss calls

I'm as much a Hull KR fan as the next guy, and before actually seeing the video the other day I was "tryin" to defend the guy in terms of he has been given his punishment blah blah.

But when I saw the video, my view changed, and I see the only way is to begrudgingly sack the player (begrudgingly cos of his quality) or slap a very heavy suspension on him.

As a club we need to do something that shows that we like the rest of the rl world, don't condone such behaviour

According to this Basil they were multiple injuries.

It is the way of the weak to secretly bleat to those in authority rather than fight their own battles.

Yes they have, but to be fair he was a second tier player, i doubt the outcome would have been the same had it been one of their top players like Joe westerman for instance.
As part of Ben Cockaynes punishment, he should be required to go into the schools and preach to the kids that it is unacceptable for someone to carry out this kind of act and the consequences of doing so, thats after he's made a grovelling apology to the club and the fans for letting them down. The same applies to players of other clubs who have been found guilty of crimes that bring shame upon themselses, their clubs and their fans.

I hope that includes Raynor.
