SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

well just to say, i thought despite the predictability of the score, we did pretty damned well, was proud of our boys tonight, never gave up and kept going till the end, yes we were outclassed, and they are more skillful, with more pace. However on saying that, they flaming well should be, ft sl squad, and a very good sl team imo, but one thing we matched them with was our committment and desire, very proud tonight.

every side tries their best, including Lokomotiv Moscow. Why we had to make so many mistakes, and look so clueless/predictable in attack. Why pass a ball to a player 'steaming' through a gap, when you can give out a hospital pass ? They tried their best, but not for the last time this season, just not good enough. Anyway, passed away 5 hours on a friday night

Well yes they should be but it doesn`t always follow. Last night watched a good game between fax and Widnes but to be honest Widnes was flattered by the scoreline a little .We have beaten them twice and I think others teams will too.In the first half their play was very predictable one man stuff and they did not know what to do with the ball when they got it.They are going to have to improve but then other teams are improving also.
Some of the Widnes players are not earning their corn.

This team was never going to test the likes of Wakefield it was professionals against Semi pro, it is just not going to happen the gulf now between SL and the lower league clubs is massive.
A good cup run in the CC is always going to be a a no chance situation the days of beating SL opposition is over and now especially there is no promotion or relegation for next four years .We have a young side who are not ready for the likes of these games in four years if we continue to grow these players and keep our local talent on our door step maybe we could have a better future .
Neil Kelly is no fool he is building a squad that in a few years down the line can compete, it is the right road to take last night was a case of men against boys .
If for instance if Wakey had played Halifax or Widnes , it would have been a case of men against has bins we are going down the right path patience is required it wont happen in one game.

Neil Kelly Wednesday - "Wakefield is my home town so I want to put a good performance in but, with all due respect to ourselves, I don't think we are going to be in the final at Wembley," he said.

"It would be great if we could - and I'd be crowned king just after it - but the real meat in the sandwich for us this year is the Northern Rail Cup and the Co-operative Championship."

Neil Kelly Friday - " I can't dispute Wakefield dominated the ruck, got the speed of the play-the-ball they wanted and the cumulative process of that is they dominated the game and the scoreboard.

"It was an unstoppable tide.

"We have to learn to some harsh lessons and I just don't think we all fully believed when we came here we could compete. Ultimately you pay the price for that."

No wonder they didn't believe they could compete.
