If you actually take the trouble to read the majority of posts about this from FC fans they are saying that Raynor was also lucky not to get sent down. The fact that there was no CCTV released publicly is irrelevant.
Raynor committed a serious racially motivated offence and was rightly punished. BUT the severity of the sentences reflects the severity of the offences. Raynor 6 months suspended for 18, Cockayne 51 weeks suspended for 2 years. In the eyes of the legal system (which may be an ass
) Cockayne's is the more serious. End of.
And Berrigan's bitch has a point, in that the media have had the unfortunate opportunity to show RL in a positive light (with the sport joining together after Leon Walker's death) but the timing of the Cockayne case (and it could have been anybody) has put the mockers on that and the media can go back to portraying the sport in a poor light.
