Its not a Hull or Rovers thing, its a disgraceful attack and having seen the footage I cannot understand how he escaped jail.
If your refence is to Raynor then if I could see the footage I would comment on it. The fact that you say 'Ben's downfall' seems to indicate he was unlucky in some way?
I agree with him needing jailing, look at my posts, no-one is as hard line as me with crime and punishment, I don't care who he plays for, but I do care that any punative punishment dished out by the RFL are not just aimed at him because of the disgust we have at the attack. I have not seen the clip, but think its likely to cause a lop sided view of what he should have done to him as a secondary punishment and the referalls to others are based n the fact that the RFL never seem to be interested, it would be wrong for any decision to be made based on a short clip on the internet when equally disgusting offences have been committed but the offenders have been lucky in that there was no footage of it.

I refer to the comments on here. He has been dealt with by the courts, I don't agree with the leniency, in fact I expected at least a two year jail sentence. What bothers me is that some seem to think its a worse offence than others, because they have seen a clip of it.

Do you mean the summary reports of the trial in the local newspaper or a full transcript of the trial?
Now, I'm pretty sure that the judge that sentenced him was aware of all the facts of the case and in light of those facts chose the sentence he, with years of experience in law, found most appropriate. As for the extent of the facts you possess I do not know, but I think it a safe bet that the judge has a better idea than you.
He was very lucky not to receive a custodial sentence.

Strange thing this RL Fans site, if you go on Sin Bin and quote a report from a paper you will be casticated by the good and the great on there for 'taking things out of context' or 'not being in full facts' or the usual 'Daily Wail reding idiot'

Why? I do not condone his actions in any way shape or form. If he'd have been sent down then I would not have said that was wrong. If Hull KR decide to get shut, then I'd back them. But as this incident was not on rugby pitch it has nothing to do with the sport's governing body. So before you try and be clever; at least have a valid counter argument.

He has been lucky to avoid prison, but it is not the the RFLs place to even things up or correct perceived shortcomings in the justice system. If they punish him it has to reflect a policy that will be applied in all cases like this.
Without referring to any specific incidents my strong suspicion is that clubs will be more willing to 'make a stand' and take swift, firm action when the player involved is on the periphery of the squad or is considered a failure. The RFL can stand above that and be impartial, hopefully.
Bit of a tangent, but does anybody else find it strange that in a case with such clear cut CCTV evidence and in which there was a guilty plea, it took so long for the courts to bring the case to a conclusion? I know that care has to be taken, papers filed, evidence weighed etc, and that a correct decision is more important than a quick one, but nearly 2 years ffs!

tbh I'm not quite sure what your getting at, my knowledge of the trial comes from the papers, from what I read I can't see how he managed to avoid custodial, the CCTV reinforces that view as far as I am concerned.
I'm not exactly what you'd class as a hardline "lock them up and throw away the key" sort of guy.
