I'd say he's failed to play rugby the appeals to the masses. I have said before that Wigan fans will accept defeat if the team plays well; sadly we've been playing increasingly dour rugby (Bratfut excepted) with little to no success.

I think we all pretty much know Jonh is not a supporter of Noble's style of player tactics.

Most teams bar Saints and Leeds have occasionally had really poor games throughout the season. The operative here is occasionally, we seem to be having too many really poor games disproportionate to our previous two years' final table position.

I think we're all pretty much aware of that fact.

Then if we're the 3rd best team in the country and our on-pitch performance is the best we can consistently produce then we've chuff all chance of any hope of success unless Stains and Leeds cease to exist or capitulate overnight.
Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.
Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

you cant seriously be happy with the way things have gone this year ?
the performance is a crucial part of things , the manner of defeat...
both of the above have been totally unacceptable this year ,
take away the interception at quins , and we would be a lot worse off mentally
I think sadly the reaction to the win we had against Bradford shows he will fight to the end for Noble on here despite the evidence regardless as he simply is determined not to be proven wrong.
Unofficially the most boring poster on Cherry and White.
It's a weird one. He took over to try to bring the good times back, kept you up first year, got 3rd in SL the last two years and I really expected you to go one better this year.
There's plenty of time to go this year but so far the signs are not promising at all.

1. Wigan play "well" all year, tail off a bit to the end, and finish 4th.
2. Wigan play sporadic all year, hit form come the playoffs and make the Grand final.
I know you weren't asking me but 2.
Leeds and Tony Smith were slated by some of the more knee jerky Leeds fans throughout 2007 for some disjointed performances but ultimately finished 2nd on the ladder. They then mullered Saints at Old Trafford.
As long as you qualify for the playoffs it doesnt matter how many you've lost up until then.

A team only has to finish eigth for the play-offs which means losing more than half its games. For a team on top salary cap it's a poor performance and gives no chance of a grand final.
Red Hot Jalapeno wrote:You keep saying this but the facts are games are not won on paper and IMO your view of our current team is typical of another person who over-rates some of our players. Our team this year is not as strong as last year due to the fact we have not replaced Barrett. You cannot lose a Trent Barrett and not replace him and expect to be stronger. Whilst the squad is bigger the quality has dropped badly in one of the most important positions on the field. Add to that the fact Riddell just isnt firing yet and you can see why we are not playing too well at the minute.
Well we have no idea what he asked of the players. Maybe he told them to do one thing yet they didnt carry out the gameplan? Basically he will take responsibilty but the players did not do what he wanted them to do.
I dont think we will see a great deal more him either, just plodding on, go taybarns, plod on, go taybarns, plod on, go taybarns and then back to Australia with a wedge of cash at the end.
Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid. Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal. Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

I'll third that.
I think Bailey makes a good point on main website, when he says, 'It is so frustrating though. Just look at Cas, they have won four games by six points or less this season. We have lost four by one try or having scored the same amount of tries as the other team. Cas are now third and we are ninth!! The line between winning and losing is closer than ever before and unfortunately at the minute we are a victim of that.'
We could be so hyped up at this point in the season if lady luck bounced a little bit more our way.
