I am behind Noble untill he leaves and its the same with any player, why cant we just support the team.
Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good - sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league - Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate - the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever - Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go - Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know - FIOS
It's only worth getting rid of Noble if there's someone obviously better who's in a position to take the job. Change for change's sake will just create more inconsistency. I don't think it's any co-incidence that our fall into mediocrity was at a time when we employed a ludicrous number of coaches in the early-mid part of this decade.
There were many in the crowd who were clamouring for Denis Betts' head at a time when we had a bad run of form, and actually sang Millward's name in Betts last match - look how that turned out...

What you have to look at is the table. Most of the teams we have lost to have not only beaten us but are winning most of their games. The likes of Castleford,Huddersfield and Wakefield are flying this year and although everybody expects Wigan to be beating those kind of teams we have to realise that the salary cap has evened the competition out and we cant have everything our own way anymore. I am pretty sure Noble is far from happy with the team at his disposal at the minute hence all the failed attempted signings of stand offs in the off season so whilst yes he has signed most of the players there are probrably still positions he thinks needs to be strengthened.
Listening to the amount of people calling for Noble to be sacked has made me realise why opposition fans think we think we have a God given right to win every game. The fact is we dont have any right and it will take time before Noble finds the right formula and build a team he is totally happy with.
So yes,we should be doing a bit better than we are at the minute but the fact is we have not replaced Trent Barrett and the team is desperate for an experienced halfback and the likes of Riddell,Fielden and our most experienced players are just not firing at the minute.

I love the way he says this, we still on paper have a half decent team far better than the standards we have produced in the last few years.
Mr Noble deflects any responsibility off him at any opportunity he gets, but does it is a subtle way, the whilst i take responsibility, the players got it wrong quote from the weekend was another example of this.

Very few think this, most like me expect to see the team play to an acceptable standard most weeks, show desire, motivation, teamwork, improve on basic errors and consistency. The last 3 years we have see this on far too few occasions and although the players have to take there stick for this the book stops with Noble, it is fundamental to his job to put a team with all the qualities out on the field, he has failed.

You keep saying this but the facts are games are not won on paper and IMO your view of our current team is typical of another person who over-rates some of our players. Our team this year is not as strong as last year due to the fact we have not replaced Barrett. You cannot lose a Trent Barrett and not replace him and expect to be stronger. Whilst the squad is bigger the quality has dropped badly in one of the most important positions on the field. Add to that the fact Riddell just isnt firing yet and you can see why we are not playing too well at the minute.

Well we have no idea what he asked of the players. Maybe he told them to do one thing yet they didnt carry out the gameplan? Basically he will take responsibilty but the players did not do what he wanted them to do.

How has he failed though? Because you do not agree with his tactics or the style he employs? Most teams bar Saints and Leeds have had really poor games throughout the season and the reality is we are no different because we do not have any kind of God given right to have everything our own way anymore. The league table the last 2 years proves we are up there with the best of the rest behind Leeds and Saints.
