Although my old mate Charlie Seeling does not believe in it, Stuart Fielden in my opinion is the best example of burnout you are ever likely to see, burnout is not just physical its mental too and I think Fielden has it bad on both counts.
Unless by some miracle his form does improve, but i can only see that ever happening under a change of environment to freshen things up which would mean getting shot of the backroom staff, Fielden should not be offered another deal at Wigan regardless of his wage demands.
To be honest part of me agrees hes maybe burned out but then another part of me thinks his heart isnt fully it at Wigan. You only have to look at him when he cops a high shot. Hes usually screaming for the ball from the resulting penalty tap and runs it in just like he used to in his Bradford days. This happened against Warrington last year when Briers clobbered him. On the next play he scattered the Warrington defenders and i ended up wondering why he doesnt show that agression all the time. Same V Leeds when Peacock had a bit of a scuffle with him,it kicked him into gear and he had a great game after that. It just seems like it takes something to actually kick him into gear.

Agree with all you say there mate
Fielden at Wigan is all a big mystery to everyone
The guy who can solve the mystery and get Fielden back to his best will be a pretty wealthy man

Id love nothing better. As i said he was always my favourite player outside of Wigan when he was at the Bulls. I dont buy into the excuse that it was because he had a big pack around him at Bradford either. He used to perform every time for GB against the Aussies even when the other GB forwards found it hard to match the opposition. I will never forget in one game V Australia when he had played a MOM 80 mins performance and he chased one of the Aussie backs down in the 70th minute. I just cant understand why he has become so poor compared to what he was.

Again agree 100%
A firing Fielden for the next 4/5 years would be awesome

Fielden shat his pants when Crabtree had a go at him on Friday. Not good enough from a so-called enforcer. 4 years ago it would have been a different story.
