Although my old mate Charlie Seeling does not believe in it, Stuart Fielden in my opinion is the best example of burnout you are ever likely to see, burnout is not just physical its mental too and I think Fielden has it bad on both counts.
Unless by some miracle his form does improve, but i can only see that ever happening under a change of environment to freshen things up which would mean getting shot of the backroom staff, Fielden should not be offered another deal at Wigan regardless of his wage demands.
To be honest part of me agrees hes maybe burned out but then another part of me thinks his heart isnt fully it at Wigan. You only have to look at him when he cops a high shot. Hes usually screaming for the ball from the resulting penalty tap and runs it in just like he used to in his Bradford days. This happened against Warrington last year when Briers clobbered him. On the next play he scattered the Warrington defenders and i ended up wondering why he doesnt show that agression all the time. Same V Leeds when Peacock had a bit of a scuffle with him,it kicked him into gear and he had a great game after that. It just seems like it takes something to actually kick him into gear.
