Keighley Cougars and Castleford Tiger fans that are going to be at CougarPark for the Carnegie Challenge Cup Fourth Round tie will have something extra to look forward to – an arm wrestling challenge between Cougar mascot Freddie Cougar and Tigers’ furry leader TJ.
Freddie, who has just undergone a rigorous six-week fitness campaign to keep his job as Cougars’ mascot, has thrown down the gauntlet to his opposite number at the engage Super League club.
Freddie said: “I’m feeling on top of the world after taking so much trouble to get fit.
“It’ll be interesting to see whether I can beat JT and what ever happens we hope it’ll be entertaining for the fans”.
Helen Carter, the Cougars’ General Manager, said: “We want to make this Carnegie Challenge Cup a great day out for all the family.
“People like to watch activities involving the club mascots and it will help entertain people during the halftime interval.
“We’re really proud of Freddie now that he’s really fit”.
